EMDR Therapy for Grief, Identity Shifts, & Life’s In-Between Seasons

(Online in Texas, Florida, Ohio, Colorado & Michigan)

Gentle support for deeper healing.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidence-based therapy that helps the brain process and release the impact of overwhelming or distressing experiences. EMDR can be especially supportive for grief, anxiety, emotional overwhelm, identity shifts, and life transitions that leave you feeling stuck or disconnected from yourself.

EMDR is not about retelling your story over and over again, it’s about helping your mind and body finally process what’s been carried for too long, so you can move forward with more clarity, steady grounding, and emotional ease.

How EMDR is Offered in My Practice

At Aligned Journey Therapy, EMDR is one of the trauma-informed approaches I may incorporate to support clients in processing difficult experiences and reconnecting with themselves more fully.

While all therapy sessions are grounded in trauma-informed care, EMDR work often requires a deeper level of pacing, preparation, emotional attunement, and processing support. Depending on a client’s needs and goals, EMDR may be incorporated into traditional therapy sessions or offered through extended private pay sessions and therapy intensives for more focused, immersive work.

EMDR can be especially supportive for clients navigating grief, emotional overwhelm, identity shifts, difficult life experiences, trauma, and seasons of significant change.

For clients seeking deeper trauma processing in a more concentrated format, EMDR intensives provide extended time and dedicated space for focused healing, nervous system support, and integration.

If you’re planning to use insurance, we can absolutely still work together in a supportive, trauma-informed way and explore approaches that align with your needs, comfort level, and goals for therapy.

Who EMDR Therapy is For

EMDR may be a good fit if you:

  • Continue carrying the impact of difficult past experiences or relationship patterns

  • Notice anxiety, tension, or emotional reactions showing up in both your mind and body

  • Want support processing experiences on a deeper level than traditional talk therapy alone

  • Are looking for a more intentional and focused healing experience
